Mary Wafer – ninth floor
In her latest series of oil paintings, artist Mary Wafer looks at the sinister police station on John Vorster Square, a lingering symbol of the violence of the apartheid system. Showing at David Krut Projects in Parkwood until August 8.

Exhibition opening: Twenty – art in the time of democracy n outstanding exhibition featuring artworks by 115 contemporary South African artists covering a wide variety of themes such as identity, resistance, the Mandela years, Marikana and the Aids crisis. Opens at UJ Art Gallery on Wed July 1 at 18:30.

For the Kids
The adventures of Oliver Twist Based on the Dickens’ novel, this much-loved children’s musical is showing at the National Children’s Theatre until July 19.
